Gran Fondo La Nucía October 27th

 Article 1.1.- Regulations.

The International Gran Fondo La Nucía is a cycling sports event covered by the “Cycling Regulations for All” of the Royal Spanish Cycling Federation and regulated in its article 9, which conceives this sport as physical exercise for leisure, tourism, or cultural purposes, excluding competition.

The event will be governed by the instructions of the General Directorate of Traffic in force at the time. For matters not covered in these Regulations, the current regulations of the RFEC will apply.

The Cycling Sports Event will take place with traffic closed to users not participating in the event and will have the use of the roads in the space between the authorities carrying the red and green flags, and will be circulated without invading the opposite lane. Sections of ordinary circulation will remain open to general traffic.

At all times, participants will respect the orders of the Traffic Group agents of the Civil Guard.

Article 1.2.- Route and Schedule.

The Gran Fondo La Nucía will be held on October 27, 2024, covering a distance of 166 km, giving participants the option to reduce the distance to 76 km by passing through the finish line on their first lap.

The start and finish will be from the Camilo Cano Olympic Stadium in La Nucía (Camino de la Serreta, 03530 La Nucía, Alicante).

To be included in the listings and receive the “finisher medal,” all participants must complete the chosen distance, 76km for one lap and 166km for two laps.

Participation is open to all cyclists who are at least 17 years old on the day of the event.

START: The start will be at 8:00 a.m.

See route map. The schedule will be subject to the regulations in force at the time and will be notified to participants through the website with sufficient notice.

VERY IMPORTANT:

All participants must stay within the established device, i.e., between the Traffic Group agents (Civil Guard Traffic Group) who signal the beginning and end of the traffic-closed space. The beginning is marked by the red flag and the end by the green flag. No participant may pass the red flag. During the event, those who cannot keep up with the pace set and are passed by the green flag will be out of the race, so they must reduce their speed and ride cautiously without obstructing other road users and following traffic rules and signs.

All participants are advised:

The Event is not a competition.

Keep to the right, not invading the opposite lane of traffic.

The route mostly runs on secondary roads without shoulders, so caution must be exercised.

The climbs have long descents with some dangerous curves, sections where extreme caution must be exercised.

The routes are signposted by the organization.

Do not litter, use the containers and trash cans located at the refreshment stations. During the route, keep it in your pocket until you reach the refreshment station or finish line. Take care of, protect, and respect nature. Sierra Calderona Natural Park, a natural heritage for all.

All participants who are out of the race must remember that they are riding with open traffic and must respect all traffic rules and signs, as if they were normal road users. At all times, they are obliged to respect the orders of the Civil Guard Traffic Group agents.

Article 2- Registration

Registration is personal and non-transferable.

All three distances have the same price, which varies according to the registration period, as follows:

First 500 registered:

Federated Cyclists*: €45

Non-Federated Cyclists: €55 (includes one-day license)

From 501 to 1000 registered:

Federated Cyclists*: €55

Non-Federated Cyclists: €65 (includes one-day license)

From 1000 registered until registration closes:

Federated Cyclists*: €65

Non-Federated Cyclists: €75 (includes one-day license)

*Federated Cyclists: RFEC – Royal Spanish Cycling Federation.

Allowed changes and deadlines to make them:

Jersey Size: Until 06/30/2024

Distance: Until 09/15/2024
Option to add “medal engraving” and option to add “food for companions”: Until 09/30/2024

These changes will be made by the participant themselves with the locator indicated in the confirmation of their registration received by email.

Registration includes:

Official event jersey. This “Gobik” quality jersey is mandatory for the Event.

The jersey will not be sent to the participant’s address, the only day available for pick-up will be Saturday, October 26, 2024.

In our event, all participants must be insured through the RFEC-Spanish Royal Cycling Federation (federated), or by taking out the insurance provided by the organization (non-federated).

Participation in the event is under the responsibility and at the participant’s own risk. The participant at the time of registration and participation declares themselves to be physically fit for the Event.

Article 3- Registration Procedure.

Registrations will be made through the website www.granfondolanucia.com NO REGISTRATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED on the day of the event. All participants must have registered in advance through the website.

Registrations are considered final, so in case of inability to participate, the registration fee will not be refunded.

Registrations are strictly personal and non-transferable.

Article 4- Collection of Bibs.

The bib and jersey will be collected in the event facilities area on Saturday, October 26, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

The facilities area will be located in the parking lot of the Camilo Cano Olympic Stadium in La Nucía, next to the start and finish point.

To collect the bib and jersey, you must present your ID and registration confirmation, additionally, federated participants must mandatory present the cycling federation license (RFEC – Royal Spanish Cycling Federation).
Any change and/or modification will be notified through the official website www.granfondolanucia.com

Article 5- Disqualifications.

The organization will not include in the listings participants who start before the announced time or change the chosen distance during the event.

The event organizers may determine the expulsion from the Event of any participant who engages in unsportsmanlike behavior or does not follow the instructions given by the authorities or organization.

Article 6- Refreshment Stations.

The Event will have various solid and liquid refreshment stations along the route. Their location will be indicated on the website.

Article 7- Security Measures.

The organization will have professional technical-health personnel present throughout the event, consisting of doctors, nursing assistants, and ambulances, as well as liaison motorcycles and signage along the route. For the safety of the participants, it is MANDATORY to carry the National Identity Document (DNI) on the jersey and advisable to carry a mobile phone.

The organization recommends that all participants undergo a medical examination prior to the event to detect any anomalies or illnesses incompatible with cycling.

Article 8- Mechanical Assistance.

The organization will provide mechanical assistance. In the event of a breakdown, labor will be free of charge, but spare parts will be at the expense of the cyclists.

Only repairs that can be made on the route will be attended to, except for punctures.

Article 9- Jersey and Helmet.

The official jersey of the Gran Fondo La Nucía is MANDATORY for all participants, regardless of the distance chosen. It is a safety and control element so that all auxiliary personnel involved in the event can identify participants at all times.

Without the jersey, it will not be possible to access the event start or appear in the list of participants.

Participants will also not be able to be attended to by mechanics or volunteers in services provided by the organization.

Wearing a helmet is MANDATORY for all participants.

Article 10- Coverage.

To ensure the safety of the event, the organization collaborates with the Alicante Provincial Traffic Headquarters, Civil Guard, and Municipal Police.

Article 11- Traffic Rules.

Devices traveling between the red flag and the green flag will travel with closed traffic, but 100% of the Event route is NOT closed to traffic.

All participants must scrupulously observe the provisions of the Traffic, Motor Vehicle Circulation, and Road Safety Law, General Traffic Regulations, and comply at all times with the instructions of the Civil Guard, Local Police, and Organization Staff. Failure to comply with the instructions of the authorities will result in expulsion from the Event. By accepting this regulation, every participant undertakes to comply with the aforementioned rules and to ensure their safety, that of the other participants, and other road users.

Registration for the Event implies that the participant assumes the inherent risks of participating in a March open to traffic and exempts the Event organization from any responsibilities for any incidents or accidents arising from participation in it.

It is strictly prohibited to pass through the Start/Finish area by any person not registered in the Gran Fondo La Nucía and not wearing the official jersey.

Article 12- Disclaimer.

The Organization is not responsible for any accident in which the participant could be the cause or victim, and the participant must be covered by the corresponding federation license (RFEC) or accident insurance contracted with the organization in the case of non-federated participants. Nor does it assume any responsibility for expenses or debts that participants may incur during the Event, nor for the loss or breakdown of bicycles or other equipment belonging to participants.

The participant exempts the organization from any responsibility for the loss or deterioration of bicycles, goods, personal belongings, or equipment under any circumstances.

Article 13- Accompanying Vehicles.

The circulation of vehicles not authorized by the organization, accompanying the Event, is prohibited. Organization vehicles will carry a sign conforming to a model and clearly identified on the visible part of the vehicle.

Article 14- Finisher Medal.

At the end of the route, the finisher medal will be given to the participant upon reaching the finish line, as long as it is within the established times for this purpose. The participant has the option to engrave their name and time on the medal, if they contract it when registering, the cost will be €5, and if they decide to do it after completing the Event, the cost will be €10.

Article 15- Modifications.

Regarding Subsequent Modifications, the Organization reserves the right to make the necessary modifications when deemed necessary for any reason. Likewise, the Right of Admission is Reserved.

The organization will not assume any responsibility if the event is canceled or postponed due to causes beyond its control, in which case the registration fee will not be refunded.

Article 16.- Acceptance of the Regulations.

The mere fact of registering for this Event implies acceptance of these regulations and waiver of all rights against the organization, renouncing any legal action that may arise from participation in the Event.

Article 17.- Image Rights.

The acceptance of these regulations implies obligatorily that the participant authorizes the organizers of the Gran Fondo La Nucía to fully or partially record their participation in it, agrees that their image may be used for the promotion and dissemination of the Gran Fondo La Nucía image in all its forms (radio, press, video, photo, DVD, internet, posters, media, etc.), and assigns all rights relating to its commercial and advertising exploitation that they consider appropriate to execute, without the right on their part to receive any financial compensation. This article also applies to photographs.

Article 18.- Data Transfer.

The participant accepts that their data may be transferred exclusively for activities necessary for the proper management and internal administration of CLUB DEPORTIVO PODIUM. Likewise, they accept that the aforementioned CLUB may send or direct information about any products, actions, or services they market.

Article 19. Registration Cancellation.

An optional “registration cancellation” insurance is included, at an additional cost of €5.

This optional insurance will only be valid for contracting until May 31, 2024, and the deadline for its use will be July 31, 2024.

The total payment made in the registration process will be refunded to the credit/debit card used for payment.

The participant who is deregistered will not be entitled to collect the event jersey, nor, if applicable, the shorts and/or vest, nor the participant bag.

The amount to be refunded will be reduced by both the €5 cancellation insurance and the management and bank charges corresponding to the registration and refund process.

Article 20. Registration Refund.

Once registration is accepted, the registration fee WILL NOT BE REFUNDED, except in the following cases:
Because the event does not take place (*)
For not participating in the event due to the participant quota being reached (*)
Due to improper income resulting from payment errors (*)
For having taken out the “registration cancellation” insurance (*)
For changing or rescheduling the event date due to force majeure (storms or hurricanes, earthquakes, torrential rains, pandemics, elections, government, regional, or local mandates, etc.). (*)
(*) The expenses arising from refunds or transfers will be borne by the registered runner. Refunds due to cancellation insurance will be adjusted to comply with the specifications in Article 19 of these regulations.

The refund will be solely and exclusively for the registration fee and only if the new proposed date is more than EIGHT MONTHS from the postponed date, any other expenses incurred by the runner will be borne by them (hotels, reservations, cancellation expenses, flights, trains, taxis, transfers, trips, fuel, meals, etc.).

Data Protection Clause.

CLUB DEPORTIVO PODIUM is the Controller of the participant’s personal data and informs them that these data will be processed in accordance with the provisions of Regulation (EU) 2016/679, of April 27 (GDPR), and Organic Law 3/2018, of December 5 (LOPDGDD), so the following information about the processing is provided:

Purposes and legitimacy of the processing: the participant’s registration in sports activities and the sending of commercial communications of products or services by the Controller (with the participant’s consent, art. 6.1.a GDPR).
Criteria for data retention: they will be kept for no longer than necessary to maintain the purpose of the processing or there are legal prescriptions dictating their custody, and when it is no longer necessary for this purpose, they will be deleted with adequate security measures to ensure the anonymization of the data or their total destruction.

Data communication: the data will not be communicated to third parties, except legal obligation or when necessary for the proper development of the activities to be carried out by the Controller.

Rights of the data subject: – Right to withdraw consent at any time. – Right of access, rectification, portability, and erasure of their data, and to limitation or opposition to their processing. – Right to lodge a complaint with the Supervisory Authority (www.aepd.es) if it considers that the processing does not comply with current regulations.
