Gran Fondo La Nucía October 19th

Article 1.1.- Regulations

The Gran Fondo Internacional La Nucía is a cycling event governed by the “Cycling for All” regulations of the Royal Spanish Cycling Federation (RFEC) and regulated under article 9, which considers this sport as a physical exercise for leisure, tourism, or cultural purposes, excluding competition. The event will be governed by the current regulations of the General Directorate of Traffic at the time. For any issues not covered in these regulations, the current RFEC rules will apply.

The cycling event will take place with roads closed to non-participating traffic, and participants will have the right to use the road space between the law enforcement officers carrying red and green flags, without crossing into the opposite lane.

Ordinary traffic sections will remain open to general traffic. Participants must always follow the orders of the Civil Guard Traffic Unit officers.

Article 1.2.- Route and Schedule

The Gran Fondo La Nucía will take place on October 19, 2025, covering a distance of 170 km, with an option for participants to reduce the distance to 77 km by stopping at the finish line after the first lap.

The start and finish will be at the Camilo Cano Olympic Stadium in La Nucía (Camino de la Serreta, 03530 La Nucía, Alicante).

To be included in the official listings and receive the “finisher medal,” all participants must complete their chosen distance, 77 km (one lap) or 170 km (two laps).

Participation is open to all cyclists aged 18 and over on the day of the event.

Exceptionally, minors (aged 15 to 17 on the day of the event) may participate with written authorization signed by a parent or legal guardian (according to the provided model), accompanied by a photocopy of the signer’s ID.

START: The event will start at 8:30 AM.

Refer to the route map. The schedule will be subject to current regulations and will be announced in advance on the event website.

IMPORTANT:

All participants must remain within the designated group, between the Civil Guard Traffic Unit officers marking the start and end of the closed traffic space.

The red flag marks the start, and the green flag marks the end.

No participant may overtake the red flag.

Those unable to keep up with the pace and overtaken by the green flag will be out of the race and must slow down and ride cautiously without obstructing other road users and complying with traffic rules.
